What owning and operating means at MCK.

MCK Property Holdings runs its buildings itself. Leasing, maintenance, rent collection, vendor work and capital decisions are handled in-house by the owner — this page describes what that covers for each property type.

Multifamily

How are MCK’s apartment buildings run?

MCK’s apartment buildings are run by their owner, not by a contracted manager. In practice that covers four things:

  • Leasing and turnovers — units are prepared, shown and leased by MCK’s own people, and vacancies are treated as the owner’s cost, which is the best incentive to fill them properly and fast.
  • Maintenance — repairs are reported straight to the owner’s team; urgent problems such as no heat, a major leak or anything unsafe are phoned in and treated as urgent.
  • Rent and notices — rent collection and building notices come from MCK directly, so tenants always know who is asking and can verify anything unusual.
  • The building itself — systems, common areas and capital upkeep are planned by the owner with the property’s long life in mind, not to a management fee.

Single-family & condos

How are single-family homes and condominiums operated?

MCK’s houses and condominiums get the same treatment as its apartment buildings, at house scale. Tenants deal with the owner’s own people for the lease, the rent and every repair; there is no management chain to work through. Homes are maintained as long-term holdings — kept sound, kept insured, kept up — because MCK expects to still own them years from now.

Commercial

What does commercial operation cover?

Commercial space at MCK is operated for stability: premises kept in good order, building issues handled by the owner’s team, and lease administration kept straightforward — clear terms, clear invoices, one point of contact. Commercial tenants and their brokers reach the owner through the same contacts as everyone else: 718-289-0674 and holdingsmck@gmail.com.

For outside owners

Does MCK manage buildings it doesn’t own?

Yes. MCK offers full-service property management to owners in New York and Chicago — the same in-house team, doing the same work described above, on a building it does not own. That covers tenants and leasing, rent collection, repairs and maintenance, vendors and inspections, and reporting back to you.
